#03 | Sirvis

This past Saturday I had the opportunity to shoot Sirvis and his most recent piece of work. Sirvis has been recognized for his efforts in both art and music. I went to meet up with him to watch him finish up his latest piece above his brother's mini ramp. This was quite the experience for me, I have never watched anyone do anything like this. For someone to free hand a piece this large and intricate is unfathomable (to me anyways).

Over a few beers and Kid Cudi beats we spoke on how he prepares each piece, where he does his work and where he wants to take art this year. Let me say that Sirvis has plans for 2014 backed with motivation and talent. You can expect a lot from him this year, keep your eyes peeled! Take a peek of photos of him working on the wall.

All photos were taken with my Canon S95 and Canon EOS 50D.

#02 | New Balance x Ronnie Fieg "Americana"

2013 was a ridiculous year for Ronnie Fieg, he had a crazy amount of good collaborations from Timberland to Asics. Luckily I managed to get my hands on the New Balance 577 "Americana" from Haven. I like so many things about this shoe, starting with the silhouette. It plays well with the USA colours from the speckled soles to the 3M hits. Majority of the upper is made from denim too, which you will learn in the future why that is important to me too. They came with three pairs of branded laces, but the rope lace really did it for me. Sizing was bit larger than usual possibly because they were made in the US.

I said it before and I'll say it again! Asics and New Balance are going to run the sneaker game in 2014.

#01 | J. Cole & Sushiro

Yesterday was a surprisingly eventful day for me, considering that everything I did was on a whim. After waking up to a text from my homie Jeremy telling me that he would help me pick up a DSLR camera for myself, I got ready for the day instantly and headed down to Don's Photo to meet him. After pondering and fooling around with the cameras, I used what little knowledge I knew to pick the Canon EOS 50D.

Like I said previously, everything we chose to do yesterday was pretty spontaneous. My girlfriend Aashna and I bought J. Cole tickets the day of and decided to make a date out of it. After driving around for what felt like an hour with my grumbling stomach, we ended up at Sushiro off Broadway because of our sushi craving. I'm starting to believe in fate because that meal was delicious! The food looked good, tasted better and the service was on point too.

After dinner we caught the J. Cole show at O'Brian's Event Centre directly after. Like last time, he was interactive, comfortable and performed a good set that lasted about an hour. For better and for worse, the crowd really drove off of his energy.

I hope to have one post written a week based on what happens in my life at that time. So this is all until next time!

Introduction

Lets start this new blog off with a quick introduction of myself. My name is Ryan and I reside in Saskatoon, Canada. I work for a store called Momentum managing the social media and online content with a small group of individuals. The interest for blogging and writing came from running a blog called hello saskatoon for about four years.

I am also currently working on creating a business with two partners. One partner is Dallas, who is a childhood friend the other is Chris, who I met through Instagram (it's not as shady as it sounds). We all share an interest in street wear culture and fashion and decided to dive into this endeavour which we will be presenting to the world in the following months. After finishing my education in the business college at the University of Saskatchewan I knew that becoming an entrepreneur was something that I would love to do and I thought to myself, why not now?

The entire purpose of the blog is to give you an insight into my life whether I am here in the city or across the border. Things you may see from here on out are local events, fashion, sports and dining posts. Until next time, here are my social media accounts:
